Ahead of the Game

Since the cement industry worldwide is suffering from the effects of the financial crises, the use of alternative fuels is becoming more and more important to reduce the clinker production costs. The Cement Industry in Northern Europe, especially in Germany and in Scandinavian countries is the market leader in using alternative fuels. Substitution rates of sometimes more then 60% are meanwhile standard and have a fixed place in the fuel portfolio of the plants.
