Quality Management as base for successful Implementation and reliable substitution rates
Every Cement producer in the world has implemented a sophisticated Quality control System and Management for their core product Cement. As mass product, several Quality control procedures are implemented in order to supply a cement product which fulfils the needs of the clients. Quality Management starts at the Quarry, controls a constant kiln feed, fuels, additives, temperatures and ends with the shipping of the product.

All Fuels?

Since the use of Alternative Fuels, mainly refused derived fuels (RDF) is common practice in the northern European cement industry, the cement Plants have gathered a lot of information and experience in the quality management of RDF.
The Name of RDF concludes the main Issue: Its Waste. And waste always varies in the composition due to different sources, climate, even different seasons and Holydays. To succeed with the substitution of RDF, a specialised system for the quality control is needed. Quality Management of RDF has to start at the source: defining waste qualities and sourcing the right raw materials for the production of RDF.

As MVW Lechtenberg is in charge for the Quality Control, and Management as well as marketing of around 250.000 tons of RDF from well known German Producers, we will give an inside in a Quality Management system for RDF.
