Alternative Fuels Workshop “ Processing, Storage, Dosing & Feeding” by MVW Lechtenberg & Partner

will be held on the 24th 25th  of March 2011

at MVW premises in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany

The use of alternative fuels in clinker production is common practice in many cement plants all over the world. Increasing fuel prices, environmental awareness and companies strategies for sustainable development are forcing the need of education for responsible team leaders in cement plants all over the world.

Sure - the basics of the cement manufacturing process are everywhere the same; but the legal frameworks, available waste and conditions differ.

In developed countries with a high standard waste collection, -separation and –recycling it is much easier to get defined waste fractions, which can be used as alternative fuel than in third world countries.

The cement industry with its high energy demand and ideal enabling technology can play a significant role in countries waste management policies. Calculating a possible substitution rate of only 20% in the existing worldwide clinker production capacity of app. 2.5 billion tons of clinker, approximately 100.000.000 tons of waste could be environmental friendly used- each year! Therefore more and more knowledge for implementing alternative fuel projects is required. The international cement organizations such as Cembureau, the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and others have developed many guide lining activities, which are supporting their members.

During the past years, Dirk Lechtenberg was asked many times if there is a more practicable training possibility for the use of alternative fuels, which was the reason to conduct the number of successful workshops on Alternative Fuel Implementation since February in the premises of MVW Lechtenberg & Partner in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany.

Due to the great demand we have scheduled a new workshop date in March 2011 enabling more specialists from cement & Lime plants to learn about alternative fuels.

In a dedicated workshop on the Processing, storage, dosing and feeding of Alternative Fuels, a comprehensive overview about latest technologies will be given by the experienced MVW Engineers- and – at a first time- leading Equipment Suppliers in the Field will give an overview about their Technologies and reference projects. Presentations will be done from Di Matteo Fördertechnik, Germany, Lindner Recyclingtech, Austria, Schenck process, Germany, Pfister GmbH, Germany and others.

Based on their hands-on experience from projects all over the world, MVW Lechtenberg`s experts will present practicable guidelines, work instructions to define framework conditions in the Alternative Fuel Development. A limited numbers of only approx. 25 attendees only from cement and Lime plants will allow a practical training.
